About Graveyard Greg’s Comics
Gaming Guardians is a webcomic that debuted on May 7, 2000, and was created by Graveyard Greg and Andrew Babb. It has had several spin-offs, including two other comics and a role-playing community. The current artist on the strip is John Yakimow.
The comic’s premise comes from the belief that every time a role-playing game is run, an alternate reality (or “system”) is created. Most of the time, these systems run their course, but sometimes they are unduly influenced by outside forces (overtly or otherwise). That’s where Graveyard Greg and his team, the Gaming Guardians, step in to set things right.
Carpe Diem is an anthropomorphic webcomic created by Graveyard Greg and Redkam. The story is a gay-themed serialized drama concerning the daily lives of a circle of young adult friends at a gymnasium and at their homes. The title is from Latin carpe diem, which means “seize the day.” The comic’s primary target audience is the furry fandom. As of the beginning of September 2005, the story has started the sixth chapter.
Graveyard Greg is the principal writer. The first four chapters are illustrated by Redkam, with two-thirds of the second chapter and four pages of the fourth chapter illustrated by Vince Suzukawa. Chapter five is illustrated by Kevin “Mitternacht” Wilcomb, with additional material illustrated by Sasuga. Chapter six is illustrated by Longtail, creator of Apollo 9, Coons, and Gemini Bright.
Colorists also play a very important part of this comic. After all, without them, we’d be in black and white. Kudos go out to Katayama, who did some of the coloring in Chapter 2, and ShadowWing, who colored some of Chapter 4, the bulk of Chapter 5, and is currently coloring Chapter 6.
Though the story is gay-themed, it does not contain much adult content, instead focusing mainly on issues of love, friendship and feelings. In this way, the story resembles a soap opera.
Dungeons & Denizens is a webcomic by John Yakimow (art) and Graveyard Greg (writing). It was hosted on Webcomics Nation then moved to Keenspot on April 2, 2006 but finally went freelance on July 2, 2010. The strip follows the lives of those that work/live in a RPG dungeon, such as Min, the tech support minotaur, Gazdar, the orcish custodian, Litchvell, the undead manager, Zerelda, a gorgon, and Skully, a local skeleton.
Special thanks to Comixpedia.org and their wiki for making it easy for me to create this “About” page!
